2. Runway
Why choose it over Pictory: Generates original video clips from text or images.

3. Descript
Why choose it over Pictory: Edit your own recordings by editing the transcript.
Descript transcribes your audio or video and lets you edit the recording by editing the text. Deleting a sentence in the transcript removes it from the recording. It also has tools for removing filler words and adding captions.
Free option: Free plan: 1 media hour a month, watermarked exports. Paid: Hobbyist $16/mo billed yearly ($24 monthly).
4. OpusClip
Why choose it over Pictory: Turns long videos into Shorts with captions.
OpusClip takes a long video, such as a podcast, interview, lesson or stream, picks out the moments most likely to work as short clips, reframes them to vertical and adds animated captions. Paid plans can post clips straight to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram.
Free option: Free plan: 60 credits a month, watermarked clips. Paid: Starter $15/mo; Pro $29/mo or $14.50/mo yearly.
